Owen's very first Christmas was so much fun! He brings pure joy to our lives, so I guess I shouldn't have been completely surprised that he made Christmas sweeter too. We didn't do any major traveling over the holiday, which left us with more time to relax and play. And, of course, take pictures. Lots of pictures.
Oddly enough, after combing through hundreds (literally) of pictures, I noticed I don't have one family picture. Growing up, it was tradition to get a shot in front of the tree before or after church. Somehow my mom and I let this slip. Travis mentioned it after everyone had already changed into jammies. Oh well, I guess we will start that tradition next year.
Our holiday began on Friday. We had a mini A-town reunion while everyone was home for the holiday. Lots of fun catching up! Everyone was excited to see little O, but he was fast asleep by the time they arrived.
Christmas Eve we went to A-town to celebrate with my parents, Travis and Jamie. Brian was in Hawaii with the basketball team and Summer was with her Dad. It was the first year the original 5 haven't been together for Christmas. A bit sad, but we made do.

After Christmas eve and morning with my family, we met up with Nate's parents. His brother, sister, and their families couldn't make it back to Garden for the holiday, so his parents came to Wichita to celebrate with Karen's family. We had a great time with Nate's Grandma, Aunt & Uncle, Cousins, and their children. I know there were lots of pictures taken, but none from our camera. I think we utilized our camcorder more at their house. We try to take one thing out at a time...makes us seem less crazy :)
After lunching with the larger crew, we made our way back to our house to open presents with Karen and Ced.
Nate's sister, Angela, made this amazing cape for Super O.
My Sister-in-law, Patty, made him a super cute duffel bag and pants.

And after all the presents were opened, guess what excited little man most?

Three generations. All glued to the basketball game.
K-State won their tourney.
Good for them, but probably bad for Uncle Brian's beach time.
We were both lucky to have off Monday too.

He has the best time in a pile of pillows!
Owen upgraded from cardboard. He LOVES this tub. Nate tied on a rope and pulls him around. He can't get enough. Owen that is, poor Nate gets worn out.
And Nate and I must have been good kids, because Santa brought us a new camera. Yay!
Don't know how to use it quite yet, but I've been playing.
We had an amazing holiday with the friends and family that we were able to see and look forward to catching up with the ones we missed.
We have such amazing people in our lives, completely surrounded by love.
Owen had a perfect Christmas and we look forward to sharing many more with him.
