It wasn't his first trip to the lake.
But it was his first trip in the lake.
Yes, that is Owen, hiding amongst all of the floatation devices.
And yes, I did get him a bright pink beach cruiser by mistake.
The cover was blue. Who would have known?
Owen liked his little beach cruiser and he loved the lake.
And so did we.

And so did we.
He enjoyed hanging out on the dock too.
And made friends with a neighbor dog.
Riding legally in the boat, also a first for Owen.
Not really sure what he thinks about the boat, just stares off and takes it all in.
We had lots of fun with Grandpa
Owen's new love:
Water
I am still experimenting with the best way to get it in his mouth.
He loves water bottles, but ends up spilling more than actually drinking.
He doesn't drink it out of a baby bottle...I think he thinks it should be milk.
Hasn't quite figured out the sippy cup yet.
He does best when I give it to him through a straw.
But this is one of those things the parenting books say you shouldn't do.
Why, you ask?
Well, when he starts grabbing everyone's straws out of their drinks and sticks them in his mouth and gets into trouble, he will be confused. Then you have to "re-teach" the correct way to use a straw.
I digress.

Sometimes you have to say the heck with the parenting books though.
Whatever makes my baby smile works for me.
:)
So, I apologize in advance for when this little chunk steals your straw and slobbers all over it.
Now back to the lake.
Multiple applications of sunscreen and a little t-shirt helped protect that super fair skin.
The weather was absolutely perfect and we had a nice relaxing weekend.
