Which love you ask?
This guy.
Owen and I went to Table Rock with my
family.
Nate left us for the mountains and a bachelor party.
Though we missed him, we still had lots of fun.
And tons of momma-Owen time.
We napped together and snuggled together every night. It was glorious.
Little O likes to smash his little face against mine and put his arm around my neck when we sleep. Heaven! Once we got home, I may have gotten in trouble for developing yet another bad habit. But, it was completely worth it. How could I possibly let half a bed go unused and make my love sleep in a pack-n-play. Unthinkable. And, he was only in our bed for one night before returning to his crib. Well worth it!
When he wasn't on my hip, he was with one of these three.
Summer played so well with him. Such a good little momma!
I think the busy duo may have worn out poor Grandpa and Grandma.
We rested when it rained and got in two good days on the lake. Owen is growing to be a bigger fan of the lake. First day, he clung to me like a little spider monkey. Second day, I got him to kick his legs and swim around like Superman. We definitely need to head to the Y over the winter so that he can continue getting more comfortable.
We had one other big accomplishment while we were there...
After two attempts and several stories about how great it was, we finally got to see what the blueberry farm was all about. The muffins were delicious.
And just like his momma, Owen preferred the tops.
Crazy boy only slept the last 30 minutes of the entire trip home. Although they may have regretted the decision, I was sooooo thankful that my parents changed their plans so we could all ride together. Without two
entertainers keeping the little guy busy, Owen and his momma would have had some major meltdowns on the
way home. We looked at lots of cows, read lots of books, and played with every single toy I packed.
We had such a great trip, really enjoyed the time with my fam. I got lots of rest, and even more time with my love. Couldn't ask for more.
Well, actually, I could have in this case. Our family felt completely incomplete without Nate.
And even though he didn't call much, he promises that he missed us too.
:)
